adjustment

Top six stay the same but some shuffling with three teams improving their place and three slipping a little.

Improving are Glasgow Caledonian's Crazy Brick Mover now leading in first up from second, Mancheste’s Greenfield up to third from fifth, a good surge and Glasgow Caledonian's It Takes Four up to fifth from sixth.

Slipping a little are Manchester's Legends never die losing first place but only to a close second place. Glasgow Caledonian's JIT Engineering Company down one from third to fourth and Minnesota's UMN Gopher 2 slip two places from fourth to sixth.

The points gap between first and sixth has widened a little to 445 but still bridgeable perhaps in two rounds. The percentage improvement is down a bit with both teams in first and third increasing by 15%.
Still all to play for. Focus and detailed decision making needed. Good luck to all teams.

shuffle2

While Manchester's 'Legends never die' keep hold of their top position, GCU's 'Crazy Brick Mover' move up to second from third, GCU's 'JIT Engineering Company' climb to third from sixth, Minnesota's 'UMN Gopher 2' slide down to fourth from second, Manchester's 'Greenfield' drop down to fifth from fourth and GCU's 'IT takes four' jump up to sixth from ninth. NUS's 'Blue Skies' slip out of the top six from fifth to seventh.

At this stage of MERIT we expect commotion of a great range in the percentage improvement. The ranking isn't stable, and there will be more disorder to come, but getting the decisions balanced will improve ranking.

The 294 points gap between first and sixth is not an enormous difference and can be easily bridged. While the leaders from Manchester improved by 21%, GCU, now with three in the top six, seem to be consolidating their effort with improvements of 25%, 23% and 28%.

All the teams are still learning and all are still developing their strategy. How they now play their hand is the key.

take off

The inaugural edition of the MERIT University Tournament is underway!

At this early stage, its hard to make any predictions, but from the evidence of trialling, we could be in for an interesting game.

The teams that are at the top are usually those that have run the most trials. This will have developed their understanding of what they are doing. As the other teams develop their understanding they'll catch up. There will be great upheaval and change in the league table positions. Team scores can change by as much as 20% in both directions in a single round so every team in is still competing.

We look forward to the turbulence in the pecking order.
