escape

The third round of MERIT 2022 sees a change at the top as 'MisFits' from Atkins, India surge into the lead with a 36% improvement. 'OVEngers' from ARUP are hot on their heels in second, while the original leading 'Team 2' and 'Team 1' from Andun Engineering Consultants Ltd keep a watching brief in third and fourth. 'NASA' from Atkins, India reappear in fifth position, as the TfL's 'District Line' pulls into the sixth station.

The next 6 teams, separated by just 50 points, can afford to be courageous as the market changes, while the leading teams might need to be cautious with the strategies.

Let's hope all the teams have a fool-proof plan.

swap

The Second round of MERIT 2022 sees a swap at the top, but its still Andun Engineering Consultants Ltd heading the field. This time around its 'Team 1' leading the way with 'Team 2' close behind. 'OVEngers' from ARUP in third are keeping the leaders well within their sights while 'MisFits' Atkins, India consolidate their forth position.

Behind the top four the placings are a bit more dynamic, with 'Arch Nemesis' from Ringway Jacobs climbing into fifth place and 'Nut Jobs' from COWI sixth claiming sixth.

As the teams begin to streamline their decision-making as their strategies are put into action, expect more moves up (and down) the table.

game start

The 32nd edition of MERIT is underway with the teams finally able to put their strategies to the test.

It's difficult to make an interpretation on the results from the first competitive round. What we may be measuring is how much learning the teams achieved during the trials. Those that achieved the best understanding of the issues and variables involved should have done better. But inspiration may have obscured that. The next few rounds will indicate which teams have developed the best strategy and which teams need to rethink their strategy.

Looking forward to next week!
