- Each team represents a construction company.
- At the start each company has the same starting conditions and history.
- Each submission represents a trading quarter and the company's performance is computed over a range of metrics.
- The combined score is published as a league table at the end of each round.
- After the six rounds the top SIX teams are invited to take part in a final over two days to be held at a venue to be confirmed.
- The invitation to the final will be for the four team members and their tutor. The two non-executive advisors will not be invited to the final
- The CIOB will contact the top six teams and make arrangements for the finals.
- The first action required will be for the finalists to apply for the appropriate visa. This will be the responsibility of the individual team members. CIOB will supply a supporting letter to accompany the visa application.
- The final will comprise a further eight rounds within a more competitive environment.
- At the end of each of the final rounds the companies combined performance scores will be published as a league table.
- At the end the company in the leading position having the best overall performance will be declared the CIOB Global Student Challenge Champions.
