The CIOB is launching a prestigious leadership development opportunity with the aim of developing the industry's leaders of tomorrow by offering key young members mentoring as their careers evolve. The mentoring will be provided by senior experienced members from industry.
The young members selected to join the mentoring process and be developed as Tomorrow's Leaders will be selected by a competitive process. This competitive process--The CIOB's Global Student Challenge is in the form of a construction based business game where teams of four students will manage their own simulated company.
The competion to identify the first group of selected young professionals to be mentored as tomorrow's leaders will be:
- First Phase:Six rounds of a competitive construction based business game (MERIT) for teams of four students simulating the management of their own company.
- Finals: A further eight rounds in a residental Final for the top six teams from the First Phase. The final to be held in Hong Kong on 24 and 25 July 2014 will be sponsored by the CIOB for the teams of four students and their tutor.
- The winners after the Finals will be awarded the Alan Crane Cup as Champions of CIOB Global Student Challenge 2014 and entered into the mentoring programme.
